Okay so this isn’t my actual makeup bag, I do in fact use two different makeup bags, both of them are from Ted Baker, but the bigger one I use is absolutely filthy and I need to get another. The one in the picture is my smaller ted baker one, which is so so pretty, and I use it mostly for my favourite lip products and sometimes pop it in my handbag with some concealer and powder in if I’m going out all day. Now I’m going to show you all of my essential makeup products that I use on a daily basis!
After I’ve moisturised my face, I use Rimmel’s Stay Matte Primer as my T-Zone is so so oily, and this is the best primer that I have found that helps control it. My face still gets extremely oily but without this primer it’s so much worse.
I’ve been using Loreal’s True Match foundation for a while now, it’s one of the best foundations I’ve ever used and I have nothing bad to say about it. It’s not a foundation for oily skin but it’s one of the few foundations I’ve used that keep my face matte for a good few hours. I like that it hasn’t got a really thick formula and it blends really nicely into my skin and matches my skin colour perfectly. I have really pale skin so I use this in the shade ivory.
I’ve been wanting to try a new concealer out for a while, but Mac’s Studio Fix Concealer is like a dream concealer, it’s quite a thick concealer, but it’s really creamy and covers up literally everything from redness and spots to dark eye circles and blemishes. I use it in the shade NW15, perfect for pale skin.
This powder is like my holy grail powder, I use it in translucent and without it my face would just look like a greasy mess. It’s really affordable at around £3-£4 and I seriously wouldn’t be without it. Unless I’m having a bad skin day, I only have to touch up my face two or three times throughout the day.
I like to contour my cheeks and I’ve been using this blusher in the shade Harmony from Mac for a couple of years now. It was a makeup artist in Mac that suggested it for contouring and I’ve been using it ever since. It’s well used as I’ve already hit the pan, but I’ve been looking for a new contouring palette for a while now and I’ve just ordered the Anastasia Beverly Hills Pro Contour Kit and I can’t wait to use it, so I will be putting up a review on that within the next week!
I only recently bought this blusher, I used to use Dainty by Mac but decided that the pink was too dark for my skin, and went for a change. This blusher is in Candid Coral by Elf, and it’s full of beautiful gold specks and gives your cheeks a really nice glow, but the colour itself isn’t very pigmented and I’m going to be purchasing a new blusher soon. I’m heading towards one by Nars but I haven’t decided yet.
For my brows, I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade in Chocolate, it’s a waterproof and budge proof formula and I love it, my brows don’t smudge at all. I use it with an angled brush which is also from Anastasia Beverly Hills.
I also like to use this Brow Gel by Mac on my brows, it brushes my brow hairs into place and keeps them like that all day. I’ve had this for like two years and it’s still going strong, but the label has rubbed off and it was originally a clear gel, it’s now the colour of the brow makeup I use!
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer is like a miracle worker, when I was younger I used to use eyeshadow without a primer (awful times) and I used to hate having to constantly touch up my eyeshadow. Then I discovered this little beauty and my eye makeup does not budge one bit, it keeps it on forever. Occasionally I’ve woken up hungover where I’ve been too drunk to take my makeup off (don’t judge me) and my eye makeup is still perfectly intact, it’s insane.
Apart from the Naked Palette, this is my favourite palette, I created it myself using a 4 pan from Mac. The colours in it are Vanilla, which is the perfect slightly shimmery highlight colour, Wedge, which is a matte brown that I use in the crease and for blending, Satin Taupe which is a really pretty shimmer that I use on the lid, and Copperplate which is a darker matte for the outer corners. I love this palette because it’s really neutral and is a great day to day palette and is something I can just grab if I’m going anywhere for the weekend.
This is the pencil eyeliner that I’m using at the moment, I just use it on my upper waterline to tight line my eyes. I go through various pencil eyeliners, as I don’t really have a preference, they all seem to do the job for me.
I used to wear liquid eyeliner everyday without fail, but now I only occasionally wear it, and tend to line my eyes with black eyeshadow instead as it’s a lot quicker and looks like I have eyeliner on anyway. But if I’m feeling like a cat eye then I reach for this liquid eyeliner by Barry M, it is honestly the best eyeliner I have ever used, it doesn’t budge at all or flake or anything, it’s perfect. The brush that comes with it isn’t that great but I like to buy a separate cheaper eyeliner from collection 2000 and use the brush from that with this, it’s a little inconvenient but I’m so used to it now and they’re the perfect combination!
And finally, my mascara. I tend to use a different mascara every time I buy one as I haven’t come across the perfect mascara yet. I do really like this one though and have no complaints, I have really short eyelashes and this one makes them nice and long and gives them plenty of volume.
And these are all my everyday makeup essentials! I hope you enjoyed reading and come back tomorrow for a smoothie recipe 🙂
