Happy Sunday! Today I have a little recipe for you guys because lately I have been craving cheese scones ever since visiting a tea room, and on Friday I decided to make my own (with the help of my dad and his made up recipe.) These were the nicest cheese scones EVER, seriously, try them out, they were so light and fluffy and mmm. They also barely take any time to whip up and bake, they’re super easy and taste so good!
What you will need:
8oz Self Raising Flour
3oz Grated Cheese (any preference, I used red leicester, my fav)
1 Medium Egg
2 Pinches of Salt
Round Pastry Cutter
How to make:
Pre-heat the oven to 220°c.
Fold in flour, margarine and salt until you have a light and airy mix, then add the grated cheese and mix in well.
Whisk the egg and milk together in a separate bowl, then add to the mix and fold in to make a soft and sticky dough.
Scrape the mix out of the bowl and place it onto a flour dusted worktop, then sprinkle more flour on top of the mix.
Gently form the mix into a ball shape, and then flatten it out until approx 25ml thick.
Grab your pastry cutter and cut the mix into rounds.
Place the scones on a greased baking tray and brush them with a dash of milk, then bake in the oven on 220°c for about 15-20 mins.
Leave to cool, then enjoy!
