I know this foundation has been well blogged about but I’m going to review it anyway because it’s always nice to see a fresh point of view. I’ve never really been into high end foundations, but yesterday I decided to treat myself to the famous Nars Sheer Glow foundation. I’ve been in two minds for a while on whether to get this or the Estee Lauder Double Wear, and in the end, even with my oily skin, I decided to go for the Nars Sheer Glow because I love the look of glowy skin.
I actually ordered a sample of this foundation to try it out and accidentally ordered Nars All Day Luminous Weightless instead because of the same shade ‘Gobi’ which I think must have got me confused. I highly recommend ordering samples of foundation from ebay, which is where I got it from, it was only around £4 and I got 3/4 uses out of it which is great when the full size bottles are so expensive and you don’t want to end up wasting money.
I found the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless foundation to be 90% perfect, it has superb coverage, I barely needed any concealer, I could easily have gotten away with not wearing any actually, it’s super lightweight (obviously) and it made my skin really glow. The only reason I didn’t get along with it is because it’s not very compatible with my oily T-Zone. However saying that, I didn’t actually get extremely oily so my primer must have done a good job with this one!
Anyway back to Nars Sheer Glow, I ordered this in the same shade, Gobi, which is quite yellow toned but I have really red blotchy skin so I thought it would provide better coverage on my skin. My sister said she’s noticed an extreme difference between the Nars and my usual L’oreal True Match, and told me that the Nars one blends in with my skin tone a lot better than my usual drugstore daily staple. So I’m super happy that she noticed that because I didn’t. I think that Sheer Glow has really good coverage, it’s nice and light, no cakeyness, and it also lasted on my face all day. The only thing I have to say is that I had some slight red patches around my nose and on my chin, but I get so oily in those two areas that I don’t really want to blame it on the foundation. However, I didn’t touch up with my powder for hours as I was out and about, and I had almost no oil at all which makes this foundation perfect for me, because as well as keeping matte in my T-Zone it also makes my skin really glowy!
I’m definitely a huge fan of this foundation and I’ll probably still use my L’oreal True Match on a day to day basis, but if I have any plans, I’ll definitely be getting my Nars Sheer Glow out!
Have you tried this foundation? What did you think?
