How is it August already? Summer is almost over, I go back to uni next month and I don’t even want to think about that ugh. WHERE IS TIME GOING? Anyway I didn’t think that I got any new stuff during the month of July but when doing a little round up, everything in this post is a month old or abouts so I must have! I seriously spend money without even realising it, it’s why I’m always poor. I can’t say this is going to be the most exciting monthly faves, but here’s all my July buys, you mayyyyyy be intrigued 🙂
I am literally obsessed with Barry M’s Gelly Nail Polish range, I must have like 75% of the collection by now. But last month, I was bored of all of my colours (like every month) and wanted some new ones, and went and got these two that I’ve been after for ages. They are Rose Hip & Sugar Apple, and they are both just gorrrrrgeous shades. I’m currently wearing ‘Sugar Apple’ and I adore it, it’s like a bright turquoise shade that’s perfect for summer. I never ever used to wear light shades but now I’m a changed girl. I wanted Rose Hip because I’m really into wearing off white shades at the mo and I usually wear ‘Coconut’ from the same range but I decided to go for a light pink instead to mix it up a bit. Can’t wait to wear that one next!
I picked up this lipstick after seeing a review on it on another blog, I fell in love with the shade, it’s just gorgeous! It’s a nude pinky shade with a coral tint and a satin finish, I’ve been wearing it a lot recently, it looks lovely with any makeup look. You can see me wearing it here.
I’ve been suffering with quite a few breakouts lately so I’ve required a high coverage concealer and this one has done the job perfectly. It’s quite thick but it covers redness and blemishes so easily and blends in seamlessly too, I can’t fault it at all, especially for the price of £5.49! I’ve been using it quite a lot and have hardly touched it, I can tell this is going to last me a while.
This brush has been my best friend when it comes to highlighting the tops of my cheekbones, my nose and my cupids bow. It’s perfect, it’s lightweight and it’s not that big so it doesn’t take up loads of room in my makeup bag. It actually came in the real techniques sculpting set (which is amazing value for money by the way) so I didn’t set out to buy it specifically, but if I’d have known how good it was, I would have! It looks so pretty and shiny too, I just love it.
When it comes to mascaras, I don’t particularly have a favourite, I just go into boots and pick up the first thing that takes my fancy. I was in need of a new one so I picked up this as it looked interesting and sounded good, and it really is! It’s got a flat side and a curved side so you can use both to get whatever kind of lashes you want, or use the curved side for your top lashes and the flat side for your bottom lashes. I always look for a mascara that will give me both volume and length as I have really short manly lashes, and this one really gives them some life.
I picked this up in Wilkinson’s some time in the month of July because I’d heard good things about it and it’s only £2. I’ve been using it for my breakouts and it’s really helped, it’s a mask that tingles a bit when you first apply it so it’s obviously doing something, and it has really made a difference in improving my skin! You can’t really go wrong for £2, and it makes my skin feel so fresh afterwards, I’ll be adding this to my repurchase list for sure.
I had a ring in my previous monthly faves as well, so I thought I’d keep up the tradition. I am still obsessed with rings, that hasn’t changed, but as my love for copper/rose gold is still around, I decided to combine the two and here we are. It’s so cute and I like to just wear it on it’s own when I can’t be bothered to accessorise as it just adds a little something to any outfit!
And those are my July faves! What were you loving last month? 🙂
