If you read my last post you’ll know that I recently went away for the week down South, where the weather was really hot all week. I got into a routine that I kind of stuck to all week to ensure that my makeup stayed on throughout the day and didn’t melt off, I have a similar routine anyway due to having oily skin but it changes a bit during the warmer months so I thought I’d share it with you all! I used a couple of products that I forgot to include in the photograph but I’ll mention them anyway and link everything so that you can check it out if you don’t know what I’m talking about 🙂
So for a melt proof base, my favourite primer is the Too Faced Oil Free Primed & Poreless followed by my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in the shade 1N1 Ivory Nude. To hide my dark under eye circles I use my NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer as always, in the shade Chantilly which is the lightest shade which makes it brighten up my eyes too. To hide any redness and blemishes, I’ve been using my Seventeen Phwoarr Paint which has such good coverage for an affordable drugstore concealer! I then set my entire face with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, an absolute staple during summer or all year round for us oily skinned gals. If I’m going out all day then I also like to set my base with Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray, which is a staple for keeping your makeup in place.
For my cheeks, I’ve been using my Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow palette to contour my cheek bones and highlight my cheek bones, nose and cupids bow. For a little bit of colour to the cheeks, I’ve used Makeup Revolution’s Ultra Blush Palette in Sugar & Spice.
On my eyebrows is Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in Dark Brown, my absolute brow staple, I don’t think I’ll ever use anything else!
To keep my lids oil free, I use Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion. For my eyes, I’ve been going for a warm bronze look which you can see me wearing here. I used my Mac palette for this look and the shades I used are Shroom, Wedge, Charcoal Brown & Mulch. I also use my Vanilla Pigment by Mac to highlight the inner corners of my eyes, it gives a beautiful glow. I then use my Barry M Liquid Eyeliner which does not flake or budge all day which is the reason why I constantly use it and always mention it, and then I coat my lashes with Rimmel’s Wonder’Full Mascara, the best drugstore mascara I’ve used in a long time!
Finally, my favourite summer lip has been Mac’s Velvet Teddy with my Loreal Couture Lipliner in Beige, which is a complete budge-proof nude combo, even through eating!
And that is my summer makeup routine! I find that these products prevent my makeup melting off and they also help to hide my breakouts that I get quite a lot of as oily skin is more prone to them. What’s a staple in your makeup routine?
