Six Summer Lip Picks.

6 of my favourite lipsticks for the warm summer months…

I did a post similar to this back at the beginning of Spring so I thought that I would do another one for the Summer. Most of these shades are actually probably similar or the same ones as my Spring picks because for both seasons I generally tend to go for pinky nudes and peachy tones. Summer usually screams vibrant and coral shades, however I only own one vibrant coral lipstick (which is in this post) but I do like to dig it out during Summer as it’s the perfect Summery shade!

Charlotte Tilbury Bitch Perfect | £23.00
CT Bitch Perfect is a lipstick that I always forget I have. It’s the only Charlotte Tilbury lipstick I own (I really need to get some more!) but every time I reach for it, I always wonder why I don’t wear it more often. It’s such a pretty pinky nude and is the perfect everyday shade for Summer. It’s a lipstick that will most likely suit all skin tones and is just a generally gorgeous nude. It’s a really creamy lipstick that’s incredibly easy to apply and it has a sheen finish. It’s the perfect handbag staple to wear for any occasion!

Rimmel Kate Nude 43 | £5.49
The Rimmel Kate lipsticks are one of my favourite drugstore ranges for lipsticks, they are so affordable and all of the shades are so pretty and last well on the lips. I recently picked up the Rimmel Kate Nude in shade 43 and I think it’s such a gorgeous colour for the summer. It’s a very orange/peach toned nude that is very similar to Mac Shy Girl (pictured next to it above). However this is slightly darker in colour and has more pigmentation to it. This is another lipstick with a really creamy finish and I really love it. I think peachy shades compliment pale skin tones so well and I will definitely be wearing this a lot.

Mac Shy Girl | £15.50
Mac Shy Girl is a cremesheen lipstick and is a very peachy apricot shade. It’s quite opaque when applied so you have to build it up, but it’s a really nice shade to wear and also looks really nice on top of a nude lip liner. This is one of my all time favourite lipsticks that I reach for a lot because I love how it looks against my skin tone. You can’t really go wrong with this shade, if you want a really wearable peachy nude then I highly recommend this one.

Mac Kinda Sexy | £15.50
Now, Mac Kinda Sexy is my ultimate favourite lipstick ever, I’m so obsessed with it! It’s described as a matte lipstick which it kind of is but it’s super creamy and I find it doesn’t really dry down to a complete matte unless I blot it. I prefer this though, it doesn’t dry out my lips whatsoever and its honestly just so wearable, it goes with everything. It’s a pink/peach nude, but I would say it’s more on the pink side on my pale skin. If I could recommend one lipstick that’s a must have from Mac, it’s this one, I love it so much. I’m actually trying not to wear this as much because it’s almost run out but it’s 100% a repurchase for me.

Mac Vegas Volt | £15.50
Vegas Volt is a vibrant coral shade that is perfect if you want to big and bold this summer. I went through an obsession with coral tones at one point and that’s when I picked this up. I wouldn’t say it’s an everyday shade as it’s far from a nude but it’s really pretty and would be ideal for summer festivals and things. It is incredibly vibrant on me but I think it’s because my skin is so pale, it goes so well with basic outfits though if I want to brighten things up a bit. I absolutely adore this shade for summer and I really need to wear it more often!

Rimmel Kate Lasting Finish 38 | £5.49
This is a lipstick I’ve been reaching for loads lately, it’s such a gorgeous pink and I always get compliments when I wear it. I think this is probably the prettiest pink lipstick I own and it really does compliment pale skin tones as you can see from the swatch! It’s super creamy and easy to apply and I’m always popping it in my bag to take with me everywhere because I can’t really go wrong with this one. I never used to be into pink shades but I’ve found them slowly creeping into my collection and now there’s a couple that I absolutely love!

They’re mostly very similar in tone (excluding Vegas Volt) but I love each one individually and they all have a place in my makeup collection! What’s your favourite summer lipstick?
